Jupiter: The never ending lust for more

Reading time: 3 minutes

Jupiter is the planet with the greatest gravitational force in our solar system. This also explains why it is the largest of all: it has an incredible power to pull matter towards itself and has therefore always grown. Not always quickly, but above all very constantly.

The equivalent of the physical nature of Jupiter can be found in astrology. Jupiter stands for expansion, progress, extension and, above all, the never-ending desire for more.

Where Jupiter is in the natal chart, it is clear that the chart owner has little interest in limiting his desire for more. Typically, unless the energy is blocked elsewhere, we feel a strong urge in this area of life to get to know more, to see more, to experience more. It is not uncommon for Jupiter to become the carrier of optimism and a pushing force in the horoscope: it drives us to go on and move forward.

The zodiac sign in which Jupiter is placed shows us how we proceed. While a person with a position in Virgo or Libra, for example, tends to proceed in a considered and deliberate manner, a Jupiter in Sagittarius or Aries is full of drive and energy.

It is very important to understand our own placement of Jupiter. This enables us to identify the areas of life in which we have enormous reserves of strength in the form of a strong will and curiosity. In these areas, it is easy for us to carry on and move forward. This can be helpful in our career, for example, but also in our private life: If we've always wanted to become an expert in a hobby, it's worth taking a look at Jupiter.

However, as with every planet, caution applies here too: depending on the aspect, the energy of “knowing no boundaries” can become unhealthily strong. We could consume excessively, take risks or overstep other people's boundaries.

The natural opponent to Jupiter is Saturn. It tells us where our limitations and boundaries are.

So if you are pursuing goals in life, it is essential to take a look at these two planets.
